Forever Strong - It's Remember the Titans but Rugby style!

Saturday night movie will be Forever Strong...a really inspirational story inspired by true events, based on a rugby coach who believes in turning out champion young men not only champion teams. If you liked Remember the Titans and Rudy, you're going to love Forever Strong!

Movie will start at about 7:20pm tonight. We watched a movie last night and although we have overcast clouds during the day, it was very pleasant outdoors. We'll have all the normal comforts, so come on over!

Letters to Juliet - 7:30pm Friday Night!

Italy, charming Venessa Redgrave (remember her!), a quest to find letter writers....all of this make for a great romantic comedy for tonight.

Come on over, bring a blanket (we've got some to borrow too), pop some of our popcorn, have a snack on the house, and settle in on cushioned chairs (yes, we fixed that!) for a treat of a movie tonight starting at 7:30pm.

The weather is going to hold, and should be a fun night out!

Movie Saturday Night - Summer is still here!

Movie night continues....looks like we're getting at least one more summer night in before the fall season kicks in. Come on over at about 7:15pm tonight to watch Avatar in 4D...That's right - 4D without special glasses since you'll actually be outside while watching the cool cinematography in this movie.

It should start getting dark earlier now so we can begin the movie a earlier than usual and get you into bed before 10am...

We'll have plenty of blankets, goodies, popcorn and cushions for the chairs to hang out.

God Grew Tired of Us, or North Face TONITE

What shall it be tonight? You choose! Starting at 8:30pm tonight. North Face, a great action/drama movie about a mountain climbing expedition (considered the best movie in this category), or God Grew Tired of Us about what it would be like to be a refugee and find yourself in America and how running water, electricity and other things we take for granted would be experienced!

USC Football - 8:00PM TONIGHT and OUTDOORS!!!

WOW! It's college football season, starting tonight with my beloved USC Trojans taking on Hawaii at 8:00pm at the Schwarz Outdoor Theater!

Join us for the inaugural event of watching live SPORTS in a comfortable outdoor setting. Today is warming up nicely with a beautiful summer night rolling in.

We'll have plenty of snacks and goodies available and even if you don't like football, come on over just for the fun of it!

Ghost Writer tonight!

Let's get one more movie in while the weather is sunny and the nights are warm! Tonight we're showing the newly released movie Ghost Writer. It's a story about a writer (a ghost writer) of a former UK prime minister who uncovers some secrets that puts his life in jeopardy...ooooooohhhhhh!!!!!

It should be a good drama/mystery/thriller to top off this week.

Gifted Hands - another great movie you haven't seen yet!

Tuesday night's movie will be another inspirational movie...one that you probably haven't seen yet. Cuba Gooding Jr stars in the story of young man that overcomes all sorts of obstacles growing up to one day become a leader in his field.

This is one of those true stories that actually will keep you on the edge of your seat as the tension builds scene after scene, and will make you wonder, "how did he DO that! how did he get through that!"

It's going to be a warm night and we'll get started at 8:45pm. We'll have the tiki torches going, lots of movie snacks awaiting...

Monday - Tuesday - Wednesday - Movie Night is ON!

We are going to have some GREAT weather for the next three days straight, so we're queuing up some great flicks to watch outdoors, starting on Monday with Remember the Titans.

This is an inspirational story during a time in our country's history where things were a little touch-n-go with racial segregation. Watch how one football team and an entire town "figured it out".

Movie Night - before the weekend gets yucky!

Les Miserables - Tuesday night

Unless folks want to watch something else, tonight we plan on showing Les Miserables, a story that exemplifies the meaning of grace and forgiveness.

Tonight we'll have a bbq starting around 7pm with burgers/dogs...feel free to bring a side dish to share. Should be another nice summer night for dinner and a movie!

This is probably one of the best movies you probably haven't seen yet! Amazing Grace - the true story behind the popular song...An inspiring movie that showcases the passion of a person to make a difference in this world.

August Rush - Friday August 6th

The weather is going to clear! So movie night tonight will be the really cool story of August Rush. If you haven't seen it, you'll really be drawn in by the story and the music behind it. If you have seen it, then you know what I mean.

Come on over tonight at about 9:15pm or so for a fun filled night. We've got lots of munchies, lean-back chairs, tiki torches to keep away the critters, and a nice night planned for all.

Saturday Night movie: The Desk Set !!!

What a perfect night for a classic comedy/romance story! If you're a bit older, you'll remember Spencer Tracy and Katherine Hebpurn, and if you aren't so old, you are in for a treat of good ol' fashion chemistry!

The Desk Set is a great movie to watch outdoors tonight with popcorn in one hand and holding your honey's hand in the other. It's a great story of some early times and events that are mimicing themselves all over again today, with some layoffs and the computer era in full swing.

Come on over by around 9:15 or 9:30pm tonight for a fun filled evening of what the computer age plus romance was in the "old days."

Update: MOVIE NIGHT TONIGHT - Saturday July 24rd

WOW!!! It's been awhile since we've had decent weather, but here we go again tonight at about 9:15pm for movie night outdoors at the Schwarz movie theater!

Tonight we'll be showing a GREAT movie with a GREAT message....The Blind Side. If you've already seen the movie, come on over anyways because I bet you've never watched it outdoors, with the stars overhead, trees in the background, on a huge 20 foot screen , with popcorn and candy munching with friends from the neighborhood.

Come on over tonight, snuggle up in a chair, and let's make it a date night for all of us!

Sunday - Glory Road

Sunday night should be a great night for a movie. We just got in Glory Road from our Netflix account which we previously rated as a 5 Star movie (top rating). This is an awesome true story of a Texas team that overcame a bunch of diverse issues to get to the NCAA championship.

Not just a basketball movie, but a "movie with a message" that you'll thoroughly enjoy!

Come on over Sunday night at around 9:30pm, get some popcorn popping in our microwave, grab some candy/nuts, and enjoy the show!

The Music Man - Friday night!

Join us tonight, Friday night, for a GREAT movie with a great message on how someone can change a town, and change his character at the same time!

Bring the kids, bring your neighbors, bring your mom/dad to go back in time for one of the best musicals ever made....it'll bring back wonderful memories too if you've seen it before.

We'll begin at about 9:30 as it gets dark. It should be a comfortable night to watch a movie under the stars!

Invictus - Tuesday night - July 6th

Looks like summer is going to start AFTER this weekend! So we'll go ahead and start up the Schwarz Outdoor Theater with Invictus on Tuesday night with a BBQ and a movie. The BBQ will start around 7pm and then we'll start the movie around 9:15 to 9:30pm. We've got lots of snacks available and new Adirondack chairs to sit in!

Invictus is based on real-life events with director Clint Eastwood telling the story of what happened after the end of apartheid when newly elected president Nelson Mandela used the 1995 World Cup rugby matches to unite his people in South Africa.

Summer 2010 has arrived!

We are opening up the Schwarz Outdoor Theater for a trial run movie tonight. We’ve made a few changes this year to be able to accommodate more people, and possibly stay a little warmer this year by placing the big screen in the front yard.

We’re giving it a go to see how it works out. Come over tonight to see the movie “Hachi: A Dog's Tale” with Richard Gere. We'll start at about 9:15pm-ish tonight...see you! ~martin
