Thursday Night Movie - MoneyBall @ 7:45pm

Great movie tonight starring Brad Pitt in "MoneyBall."  We'll start at 7:45pm and have blankets available to stay warm outside.  Should be yet another great night in the Northwest for movie night!

Synopsis:  An all-star cast brings to life the true story of Billy Beane (Brad Pitt), a former jock turned general manager who uses unconventional methods to bring the best players to the Oakland A's, a major league baseball team struggling against financial hardship.

Wednesday night movie - Footloose

It's another warm summer night.  Movie tonight (Wednesday) will be "Footloose" - the new one.  Starts at 7:45pm.  See you then!

Synopsis:  This musical remake of the infectious 1984 hit finds dance-lovin', big-city kid Ren MacCormack stuck in a small town where dancing is illegal. As he rebels against the town and its influential Rev. Moore, Ren falls for the pastor's lovely daughter.

Warm Monday Night - Movie Night @ 7:45pm

WOW!  Great weather for hanging outside and early enough to catch a flick and still get to bed on time.  Come on over for tonight's movie "The Iron Lady" which we'll begin at 7:45pm and finish well before your bedtime.  Look forward to hanging with you!

Synopsis:  Meryl Streep provides a subtle and nuanced portrait of Margaret Thatcher, the first female prime minister of Britain, whose political career and determination changed the rules that had limited women's opportunities for leadership.

Thursday Night 8pm - Courageous

Tonight will be movie night starting at 8pm sharp.  We've got the movie "Courageous" which follows in the line of the films "Facing the Giants" and "Fireproof".  Come on over for a warm night (I hope - blankets provided if not!).

Synopsis:  Despite showing bravery on the job, a group of law enforcement officers find themselves undone when tragedy strikes at home in this social drama. With the aid of their beliefs, however, the men find a deeper well of courage in their hearts.

Resume movies Wednesday-ish

We'll start up movie night again this week around Wednesday...we've got a few great movies in the queue including The Iron Lady, Courageous, Footloose, Moneyball, and whatever may come up in the next few days.  Check us out by Wednesday to see what's playing!

Saturday Night movie - "Good Deeds"

Wow!   We've seen some good movies lately.  Tonight should be no different with Tyler Perry's "Good Deeds" which is a bit different (from what I've read) from his other comedy/drama films and where Tyler plays a much more serious role.  Should be another great night for the movies.

Come on out before the summer is gone for good!  We'll start around 8pm so you can get to bed at a reasonable hour, or hang with the Schwarz gang afterwards.

Synopsis:  Businessman Wesley Deeds has always done the right thing -- including proposing to the woman everyone expects him to marry -- but he may finally have to listen to his own heart when his attempts to help a single mother spark an unlikely attraction.

Friday night movie: Machine Gun Preacher

Movie will start at just after 8pm tonight.  Movie is "Machine Gun Preacher" based on a true story.  Rated pretty high in NetFlix and others.  Hope you can make it!

Synopsis:  Gerard Butler stars in this true-life story of Sam Childers, a drug dealer who turns his life around to become a spiritual warrior. His mission? Rescuing child soldiers in the Sudan from lives ruined by their forced participation in bloody conflict.

Thursday Night movie - Man on a Ledge

Tonight's movie will be the suspenseful movie "Man on a Ledge."  Last night was a reasonably warm night...almost didn't need the blanket over our legs.  Movie will start at 8:15pm for an early night.

Tomorrow's movie will be "Machine Gun Preacher" to plan a bit ahead!

Synopsis:  When fugitive ex-cop Nick Cassidy steps onto a window ledge high above a busy Manhattan street, police psychologist Lydia Anderson tries to talk him down. But soon Anderson suspects that there's more to Cassidy's stunt than meets the eye.

Wednesday Night movie - The Lucky One

Summer can't be over 'cause I'm still wearing shorts!  Come on over for tonight's movie "The Lucky One".  If you like Nicolas Sparks stuff, this one should be a good one.

We'll begin at around 8:20pm or so as the nights come a bit earlier now.

Synopsis:  This romantic drama tells the story of a Marine vet who credits his good-luck charm -- a photo of an unknown woman -- for saving his skin in Iraq. Back in North Carolina, he sets out to find the woman behind the smile that steered his fate.

Sunday Night at the movies - The Vow

The mosquitoes are gone and summer lingers on!   So it's time for a chick flick, "The Vow" starting at 8:30pm tonight.  See you tonight!

Synopsis:  Rachel McAdams stars in this romantic drama about a newlywed woman who slips into a coma after a car accident and awakens with amnesia. Her devoted husband (Channing Tatum) must help her recover and also win her back.

Saturday Movie - Extremely Loud, Incredibly Close

Saturday night's movie will be an academy award nominee film from this year "Extremely Loud, Incredibly Close" with Tom Hanks and Sandra Bullock.  We'll start the movie at about 8:30pm - after the USC game of course!  All the normal goodies will be available.

Synopsis:  Believing that his father left him a message before dying in the September 11 attacks, young Oskar Schell embarks on an emotional odyssey through New York City to find the lock that matches a key he found among his father's belongings.

Sherlock Holmes - Thursday Night Movie

Summer sun is back, and we'll have blankets when it cools off tonight while we watch the Sherlock Holmes movie "A Game of Shadows" with Downey Jr and Jude Law.   We'll get started just after 8:30pm and of course all the goodies will be available once again.

Synopsis:  Robert Downey Jr. returns as the brilliant sleuth and Jude Law is back as Dr. Watson in this atmospheric sequel to 2009's Sherlock Holmes. Holmes resorts to occult theories and more to defeat the plans of his nemesis, the evil Professor Moriarty.

Hugo - Friday night movie

Movie Tonight is "Hugo".  Will start at around 8:40pm.  Blankets will be provided as it'll likely be a little less warm than normal.  Supposed to be a really good movie according to reviews.

Here's the plot:  Set in 1930s Paris, an orphan who lives in the walls of a train station is wrapped up in a mystery involving his late father and an automaton.

Girl with the Dragon Tattoo - Clearplayed

Late notice tonight!  Showing "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" with Daniel Craig (my new favorite James Bond).  If you've read the books, this is a pretty intense story with the movie showcasing the first of the trilogy.  I'll have the clearplay on to clean it up and make it watchable in the neighborhood.  According to other clearplay users it does a great job and keeps the story intact.

We'll start at 8:45pm tonight.  Sorry for the late notice but come on over anyway!

Plot:  Journalist Mikael Blomkvist is aided in his search for a woman who has been missing for forty years by Lisbeth Salander, a young computer hacker.

Sunday Night - Mission Impossible 4

Tonight's movie showing is the fourth Mission Impossible movie - Ghost Protocol.  Tom Cruise comes back with the story line where the IMF is shut down when it's implicated in the bombing of the Kremlin, causing Ethan Hunt and his new team to go rogue to clear their organization's name.

We'll start at around 8:40pm tonight.  Chairs, blankets, goodies, sodas, popcorn all provided.  Hope to see you there!

Friday Movie Night - The Girl in the Cafe

Starting at around 8:40pm tonight (Friday), we'll be showing "The Girl in the Cafe".  

This is a story about Lawrence, an aging, lonely civil servant who falls for Gina, an enigmatic young woman. When he takes her to the G8 Summit in Reykjavik, however, their bond is tested by Lawrence's professional obligations.  

Should be another warm night for an outdoor viewing!  See you tonight if you can make it.

Thursday's Movie - "War Horse"

Tonight should be an extremely warm and comfortable night to watch a movie outdoors, so we've selected "War Horse" by Steven Spielberg for our entertainment tonight.  We'll start at around 8:45pm tonight (Thursday) and have all the normal goodies available for all that want to join.  And for you folks worried about mosquitos, it hasn't been too bad at our place and we've got those special candles that seem to keep them away. 

2012 Movie Night Kick-Off TONIGHT!

Tonight we'll be kicking off our 2012 movie nights with the Academy Award winning picture of "The Artist."  We'll likely get started at about 8:45pm tonight.  We'll have some candy, popcorn, and sodas available to make it a fun evening.

So come on down to the Schwarz home to watch this award winning film under the stars on this beautiful summer evening.
